- Kentucky student violates high school dress code with exposed collarbone What are we teaching kids by creating ridiculously restrictive dress codes for girls - that sexual urges are something the girl is responsible for, and boys aren't to be held accountable for subsequent actions? How covered up does a girl have to be in order to be "safe" for boys to be around?

- GOP Lawmakers Propose ‘Modest Dress Code’ To ‘Protect’ Teenage Female Interns From Male Legislators Oh, great, it's not just in schools... "Apparently two Republican lawmakers in Missouri think that it is not the adult legislators’ jobs to control their urge to sexually harass teenagers, but instead it is the young interns’ jobs to cover up their bodies to prevent their own assaults.[...] It is outrageous that Kidd and King even suggested that the interns are to blame for being sexually harassed by suggesting a revised dress code. This is exactly the kind of thing that perpetuates rape culture and if these men believe that the way a girl dresses contributes to her assault, in any form, then they have no place in a government position. Period." I would say something similar about school dress codes - it's outrageous that school officials blame girls for being sexually harassed (and, I'd argue, participate in said harassment by suggesting it's their fault boys aren't concentrating on their school work). Grown-ass men who think girls are "too sexy" when they expose their collarbones or show their knees for males to think about anything but sex are not the sort of people who need to be in charge of minors. Or, frankly, government. Or, well, really, anything else.
